Kurt Donald Cobain was born February 0, 167, in Aberdeen, Washington. As a

child Kurt was very hyperactive and was prescribed morphine in order for him to focus in

school. Other than his hyperactivity he had a happy childhood. At the age of seven,

Kurt’s parents divorced. At this period of time Kurt moved back and forth between his

parents. Until finally neither his mother or father wanted the responsibility and made

Kurt move with relatives. Because of these events Kurt became shy and difficult to cope

with.

In school, Kurt felt lonely and resented school. He wasn’t into football like all the

other boys. The other boys didn’t like Kurt because he didn’t like playing with them.

Instead, he enjoyed painting and singing. Unlike the boys, the girls liked Kurt, they liked

him so much they always hung around him.

17 was the year Kurt began to listen to British alternative and bands like Black

Sabbath and Kiss. Before he listened to music by the beetles or like the Monkeys. Kurt

bought his first guitar for his fourteenth birthday. Two weeks before graduation, Kurt

dropped out of high school. He began to work, but he never held a job for long.

Finally in 186, Nirvana was started. Kurt was the vocalist and guitarist. One

year after the band had started, they released their first album entitled Bleach. However,

Nirvana had little success with their first album and decided to switch record labels.

September 4, 11, Nirvana’s second album Nevermind was released. The album

included the hit song “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. During this period of time Kurt began to

abuse drugs like heroine and morphine.

January 4, 1, Kurt was married to Courtney Love whom is known for her

band Hole. Six months later Courtney gave birth to their to their daughter Frances.

Kurt’s friends thought he would lay off the drugs now that he had a child, but it just

seemed to get worse.

After two years of concerts, touring, and two new albums, Kurt was found dead in

his green house on April 8, 14. Apparently Kurt had over dosed on heroine and shot

himself with a shotgun. Till this day questions about his suicide are brought to attention.

Some say he was actually murdered by his wife Courtney. Whatever the truth may be, the

music world lost what they consider a rock and roll legend.
