In the beginning, back in 171, when high school football was everything to the residents of Alexandria, Virginia, local officials were forced to integrate the schools and hire a black man, Herman Boone, as head coach of the T.C. Williams Titans. He was faced with molding a group of rebellious teenage boys into a winning team while teaching them valuable lessons about becoming men. Their respect, friendship and determination healed a town torn by fear, ignorance and prejudice.

I have picked Alderfer content theories of motivation to address the needs that motivated Gerry Beriter and Julius Campbell to work together and become members of the team. According to Alderfers content theories of motivation, the levels are existence, relatedness, and growth. I choose this content theory for two reasons first, was because unlike Maslow's need hierarchy, there is no prescribed order of ascension. And the other, is that Alderfer theories allows regression to take place.

The two members of the core team that I have picked to answer question two are Gerry Beriter and Julius Campbell. Early on in the film we are introduced to a star football player Gerry, a strong all American white racially prejudice defensive end young man. Who would soon learn and become best of friends with Julius another defensive black foot ball player in the team. Right from the very start we can see that Gerry is caring and compassionate about his fellow white football players. This is seen early in the movie when he informs coach Yoast about the concerns of his fellow team mates being dropped from the team with the integration of the schools. Gerry comes from a single parent family home, his father died when he was much younger. Gerry primary objective in this movie was to play football and nothing could come before that.

In 14, John George Haigh was founded to be a serial killer known as The Acid Bath Murderer and The Vampire Killer. Haigh targeted old rich and retired people. His first family of victims were the McSwans. The McSwans family was rich and Haigh wanted to take their wealth. First Haight killed the son Donald McSwan. Then the following year he killed the parents Mr. and Mrs. WD McSwan. He killed them by bludgeoning them to death. (Beating them with a club) After killing them he forged the McSwans name on some transfer deeds, and he was able to get the McSwans properties and 4,000 pounds. When he lost all of the money at the dog track he decided to begin murdering for profit again.

His second group of victims were the Hendersons who where also rich. Haigh began to be their friends and he gained their trust. Haigh drove Mr. Henderson to his workshop where he shot him. Then he went to Mrs. Henderson and told her that her husband was sick. She went with Haigh to see him at his workshop. Once she got there he killed her in the same manner. After the killing of the McSwans and the Henderson's, Haigh duplicated their handwriting and sent notes to their servants, relatives and friends explaining that they moved to Australia or some distant place, and mentioning that Mr. Haigh would settle their affairs. Haigh sold off the Henderson's house and car, and received 10,000 pounds from their bank accounts. But in almost a year most of the money was gone by losing to an army of bookies.

He was overdrawn at his bank and needed to pay back rent to the Hotel he stayed at. So he began looking for his third victim. He targeted a wealthy, retired matron by the name of Mrs. Henrietta Helen Olivia Roberts Durand-Deacon. She knew Haigh leased and rented cars to patrons. So she thought he would be interested in promoting her idea about manufacturing plastic fingernails. Haigh responded favorably to her idea. He told her to meet him at his workshop to discuss it. Once the woman entered the workshop Haigh shot her in the back of her head. After killing all of his victims he stripes their bodies and dumps their body into a 40- gallon vat of sulfuric acid. Then he drains the vat and dumps the sludge from the vat into the dirt of the backyard. This process with the acid is what gave him his name. Because he did this to every victim he became a serial killer. He is also known as the vampire killer because after killing his victim he drank a glass of their blood.

Haigh went back to the hotel and asked Ms. Lane who was Mrs. Durand-Deacon's friend if he saw her. Mrs. Lane said she told her she was going to his workshop. Mrs. Lane said she was going to report her disappearance to the police. Haigh went with her so he could seem innocent to everyone. Once the police officer recognized Haigh, he ran a background check. Sense Haigh had a criminal record the police brought him in for questioning. First he denied that he had to do with Mrs. Durand Deacon. Then he blurted out "Mrs. Durand Deacon no longer exists! I've destroyed her with acid …; You can't prove murder without a body. " But the police went to his workshop and found some remains of Mrs. Duran- Deacon. The remains were in sludge, but the forensic investigators unearthed twenty-eight pounds of body fat, false teeth, a pelvis, an ankle, gallstones, and a red handbag beneath the acid vat. They found his diary in the workshop. It told everything about all the previous murders. The investigators also found a few remains of the McSwans and Hendersons. Haigh was charged with the murder of Mrs. Durand Deacon and was placed on trial. Haigh tried to convince everyone in the courtroom that he was insane. He started that " in each case I had my glass of blood after killing them." Then he went into describing in detail all sorts of ghoulish acts on his victims, before giving their body's acid baths. The jury was not impressed. They came to a verdict of Haigh being Guilty. He was sentenced to death. On August. 6, 14, John Haigh was put to death at Wandsworth Prison.

Norah and her brother Gavin were living their aunts in Toronto, Canada because of the war that had broken out in England. Their parents were in England, but Norah and her brother were sent to Canada three years ago so that they would be safe.

They were spending the end of the summer up at Muskoka, at Gairloch. Gairloch is a cottage owned by the Ogilvie. All the cousins were going to be there.

Andrew, a cousin that Norah had never met was coming this year. Everyone thought that Andrew was the greatest. Norah had decided that she did not like him at all or even want to. Once she met him, there was a problem, she fell in love with him.

When Andrew came everyone was so happy to see him, and all they could talk about was Andrew going to the war to fight. They all wanted him to be like his uncle.

Buy Going to the moon term paper

Norah, Gavin and Sally follow their Aunt Mary into town to find out what she has been doing. They find out that she has not been getting a dress made, but meeting an old

boyfriend.

Norah goes to visit Andrew one evening and finds him crying in his cabin all alone. It was after everyone in the family had been talking about him going off to the war.

Andrew is always going off into town and spending time with his best friend's family. His friend has gone off to war.

Norah and Andrew go into town to spend the day together, but instead they meet with friends of Andrews, and they join along. Lois is with them.

The young kids have a party when the Elders go to a wedding and Norah sees Andrew and Lois kissing each other.

There were a couple of very interesting parts in the story, but the time when Norah saw Andrew crying, was the most. This kept me wondering for a couple of chapters why he was crying.

Opinion

I enjoyed reading this book because it was about places that I knew of and could understand where they were. It also was different because it showed how the war was in England, but in Canada we were safe. The story had some mystery to it and there was more than one thing going on in the story. This was about a girl almost the same age as me, so I could understand how she was feeling about things when she talked about them.

The vocabulary was good for me. There were words that I could not understand and some were hard for me to sound out. One of the words that I found hard to sound out was unoccupied. The word wiry was hard to read and to understand what it meant. I asked my family for help when it came to the words that I could not read. The words that I didn't understand what they meant I would read a little bit more to see if it helped me to understand it. Sometimes this did not work and then I would go and ask my family for help. When I was reading, I took a pencil with me and would put a line under the word and then go and ask. The word horrified I didn't understand, so my mom read me the sentence again out loud to see if I could understand it. She did this with some other words also. The word contribute was hard to sound out and even when it was said to me, it was still hard to say. I also needed help on what the word meant. She would use the word in another sentence sometimes to see if this would help. On some of the words it did, and the other words she just told me what they meant. The word bristled my mom and I both looked up in the dictionary, so she could give me the right meaning. I could have used a dictionary to look up the words, but that would take me to long. I also sometimes don't understand what the dictionary is trying to tell me.

The author wrote the book as if someone was talking. It was like young people would talk, and how people would really act. She talked about the way a girl starts her period at a certain age, and what they think about it. The girl cousins talk about boys and how the older girl tells her experience and that she knows more because she is older.

I could understand what they were talking about because it was like me and friends talking to each other.

Carpe Diem poetry is a unique style of writing that focuses on enjoying the present without concern for the future. Two successful authors, Christopher Marlowe and Sir Walter Raleigh have used the Carpe Diem style to write two delightful poems. "The Passionate Shepherd to His Love" by Marlowe and "The Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd" by Raleigh both relate because Raleigh's poem is actually a written response to Marlowe's poem. Marlowe and Raleigh's point-of-views have a great way of affecting the delivery of the poems' themes. The theme of each poem has a great impact on the audience's reaction. This is because of how two poems of the same idea have a completely different message.

"The Passionate Shepherd to his Love" is a poem that mainly focuses on love with nature. Marlowe explains this relationship by writing about a Shepherd who describes various pleasures of nature if his love would live with him. Marlowe clearly sets an illustration to the reader's mind with his descriptiveness in the poem. As the reader, I think this poem is written in a delightful tone. It makes me observe nature as a place of pure comfort. The theme of this poem states tat a common individual will do his or her best to comfort their love with the best of nature. "The Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd" is a poem with the same idea. What makes this poem different is that Raleigh has written it in the Nymph's point-of-view. This is also a response to Marlowe's poem. The focus of this poem is the future. The Nymph replies with concern of the consequences of the Shepherd's pleasures. Time becomes an important part of the poem because time can dramatically change the conditions of the environment. An example of this occurs in stanza three, "the flowers to fade, and wanton fields to wayward winter reckoning yields...". An example of how materialistic pleasures lose meaning through time occurs in stanza four, "...thy kirtle, and thy posies soon break, soon wither, soon forgotten...". After reading this poem, I think this poem is written with concern and sorrow. Raleigh's use of words such as "wither", "heart of gall", and "rotten " reinforce the theme. The theme states that true love is not achieved through natural pleasures, but through the emotions and care of a lover's heart.

In addition to Marlowe and Raleigh's wise use of words, various poetic devices are included throughout both poems. In "the Passionate Shepherd to His Love", personification is used in line 8. In "The Nymph's Reply to the shepherd", personification is used in lines 1 and 1. In line 7 of this poem, "Philomel" is an example of an allusion. Metaphors are used in stanza three. Line 15 contains an echo of the word, "soon". Diction, or the poet's choice of words, is a device that contributes to the overall tone of the poems. In Marlowe's poem, "melodious birds" and "leaves of myrtle" are two examples that make the delightful tone of the poem. In raleigh's poem, "wayward winter" and "reason rotten" are two examples that adds sorrow to the theme. These poetic devices are what reinforces the ideas of both poems. Without them, readers would see a "flat" poem with no significant meaning.

Christopher Marlowe and Sir Walter Raleigh have very unique perspectives when the Carpe Diem style of poetry is involved. Marlowe looks into seizing today's opportunities, while Raleigh looks into future concerns. They successfully create an idea of love and nature, but in two different perspectives. Therefor the overall theme of both poems states that lovers will strive to comfort their love as best as they can, yet they fail to realize that much of what they have is not promised to last forever. Without Raleigh's response to Marlowe, the overall theme would not be stated the way it is. Without Marlowe's poem, the overall theme may not exist. The whole idea is love versus time.

Please note that this sample paper on Christopher Marlowe vs. Sir Walter Raleigh is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. Old ID Card Gives New Status to Mexicans in U.S.

By RACHEL L. SWARNS (NYT) 1705 words

Late Edition - Final , Section A , Page 1 , Column 4

ABSTRACT - Indianapolis and seven other Midwestern cities are accepting identity card issued by Mexican government, offering Mexicans who are in US illegally a startlingly new sense of legitimacy; card has been issued by Mexican government for more than 100 years to keep track of its citizens in US; now American cities and states are recognizing card, too, in effort to identify residents in aftermath of terrorist attacks of Sept 11, and as way to better serve immigrants; now immigrants in Midwestern cities with Mexican identification card can borrow library books, arrange city water services, apply for building licenses and permits to drive taxis, among other things; illegal immigrants who carry card still risk deportation and are still barred from working by federal law, but they often live more freely in cities that recognize card; photos (M) "Since September 8th, government-chartered planes or buses have moved more than 4100 immigrants in Arizona to Texas border cities. From there, they are sent back to Mexico ". In other words deportation know as Border Patrol's Lateral Repatriation Program that consist on the expulsion of an illegal alien hundreds of miles away from where they were caught.

Over the last two centuries illegal immigrants have became a major problem for U.S. Border Patrol authorities, and Federal Agencies have spent millions of dollars trying to solve this issue but no policies were set before 174 when the actions taken were arresting suspecting illegal aliens focusing always on those who showed up seasonally or those who ran during organized raids when they could arrest as many as 45 persons at the time. By 176 arrest procedures were under scrutiny and then, it was when deportation hearings required full courtroom procedures. By January 18 8,811 aliens were caught along the southern border, it increased 46% from the year before.

It was when an amnesty was put in place to stop the incoming illegal aliens from Mexico. The problem rise again by the early 10's and a new policy raised "prevention through deterrence".

From the period of 186 through 16 border patrol was provided with more sources, including additional layers of fencing for San Diego and other major entry points. But still, this has not stopped illegal immigrants to cross the border, until now a day, when the implementation of a pilot program that has armed vigilante patrols that are trying to frighten people so they don't cross the border as they are armed and, some aliens said, "there are not playing, they're going to kill". In the other hand, the Lateral Repatriation Program, known as a humanitarian program that pretends to remove immigrants from the danger of the Arizona dessert, has as main target to reduce repeated attempts to cross the border by deporting aliens from a different border to the one they used to cross, by plane, and to different cities, in Mexico, far away from the border.

As it was thought, the Border Patrol thinks this program works because of the results, 4,48 deportations and a trend of arrests in the dessert of Arizona that has dropped 18%. They may take it as a formal program despite the cost of it, $1. million dollars for the month of September, meaning that 00 aliens have been deported every day at a cost of $56,000 per flight ($0 for each oneway ticket). In the other hand, Mexican authorities are not agree because it becomes a major problem for them since they argument they are not prepared to provide shelter for the hundreds of immigrants they have been asked to held. Furthermore, the conditions in which aliens are deported are not humanitarian, since they are chained from their waist and hands and they remain the same until they are handed to Mexican authorities; as this is consider a violation to their human rights the NATO may not agree with this program, and a question is raised, why do Mexican aliens want to cross the border in spite of the U.S. government immigration policies and programs?.

Death Sentence

An eye for an eye! If you hit me, I'll hit you back! It this the principle we want to pass down to our future generation? According to the jury on the case of Alexander Sorto, a criminal that was given the death sentence for the murder of two victim, this is the principle we want to pass down to our children. After reading over the article that contain the information on the case, I have take my stand on opposing with the jury decision. I think that the jury didn't made the right decision. There are three factors that helped me reach my final decision first, does government or civilian that participate in the trail have the right to take away someone else life, second, the execution of innocent people, and third it is cruel to put a person to death.

Does the government or the jury have the right to take away another person life? As we all know, the government have the right to protect its people from harm, but the government does not have the right to judge whether or not a person have to give up his life for the crime that he had commit. On the other hand, jury are civilian who participate to fulfill their duty as a citizen of the United States, no more then the government have the right to decision whether a person should live or die. Neither both of them have that right.

For example, the government has the right to self defense, such as, a policeman firing on a dangerous criminal. Then does a civilian have the right to shoot an intruder, who is trying to enter his home. What is the civilian catches the intruder, incapacitated him, and had him under control, then shoot the intruder, would that be considered murder. This proves that whether you a law enforcer or a civilian you still don't have the right to confiscated someone life.

The second factor is what if the person who's being execute is innocent? Can the government give the person back his life that they had taken away? There are many case in the old days that people didn't had a fair trail and was executed for a crime they didn't have commit. The execution of an innocent person comes somewhat close to a murder. The risk of executing an innocent person is impossible to calculate, but is it not zero. For example, one time I watched a movie name "The life of David Gale". In this movie David Gale play an important role. All his life David Gale had try everything to abolish the death penalty, but time after time he was accuse of crimes that he did not commit. It had even ruin his career as a college professor at a well known university, but nothing compare to the last crime that he was convict of the murder of his best friend. Soon after the trail Gale was executed. At the end of the movie, the report that had the last interview with Gale, release a video tape that review the murder was a stage set up by Gale best friend to prove that the death penalty is unjust. This movie make me realize that the government make mistake and innocent people can be kill from it.

The last factor is that the death penalty is cruel. For those who have never witness an execution does not know how it feel to seat in the execution chair waiting for death to catch up to you. The cruelest part of the execution is to know your going to death soon, and there are nothing you could do beside seating there and count the time you have left. Also the methods that are often use to execute people are found to be extremely cruel. It often takes ten minutes or more for a felon to die in the electric chair. The only methods that is known not to be painful is the lethal injection, which we know very little of.

Since grade school we were taught to forgive and forget, but how come we can't apply that standard to our every day life? Why should we put someone to death just because they took away our loves on? We doing just the same thing to they just as they did to us. Therefore, I think that the verdict which the jury had made is incorrectly. There are better methods to punish a person for the crime they commit rather then the death penalty. Furthermore, I hope that all these facts support my position about the verdict.

"I was hurried away by fury; revenge alone endowed me with strength and composure; it molded my feelings and allowed me to be calculating and calm at periods when otherwise delirium or death would have been my portion." (p. 185)

Victor Frankenstein changes over the course of the novel Frankenstein from an innocent youth, fascinated by the prospects of science, into a disillusioned, remorseful man determined to destroy the fruits of his arrogant scientific endeavor. Throughout the course of Victors life, his every action and thought causes him to bring about his own downfall. Victor is very interested in science and the "secret of life." He brings a human like monster to life, but his curiosity backfires on him. Torn by remorse, shame and guilt, Victor refuses to confess to anyone the monster he created, even as he sees the outcome of his creative act spiraling out of control.

Assembled from old body parts and strange chemicals, Victor brings a monster to life by using a mystifying spark. The enormously strong, eight feet tall monster has no knowledge of life, with the mind of a newborn. Deserted by his creator Victor, he is bewildered about what he is and tries to integrate him self into society. Afterward realizing his physical grotesqueness, he understands why society is blind to his gentle, kind nature. This is recognized when the monster assists a group of poor peasants, and saves a girl from drowning. He is rewarded only with beatings and looks of disgust. The monster seeks vengeance on Victor, and murders Victor's younger brother, William. Williams's death deeply saddens Victor and burdens him with tremendous guilt about having created the monster. The monster he creates turns out to be very intelligent, "if I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear, and chiefly towards you, my archenemy, because my creator, do I swear inextinguishable hatred." (p.11). Along with the monsters intelligent ways comes a very vengeful feeling toward Victor. The monsters rage toward his creator causes Victor to become anxious and determined to overthrow his creation. Victor is doomed by a lack of humanness. He cuts himself off from the world and eventually commits himself entirely to an animalistic obsession with avenging himself upon the monster. Victor attempts to create a female monster to ease the monsters segregation. After Victor destroys his work on the female, the monster murders Victor's best friend Henry Cleval and Victor's wife Elizabeth Lavenza. After the deaths of Victor's younger brother, best friend, wife and father, Victor becomes torn between the life of science and destroying the monster, and the reality of life and family.

Custom Essays on The Downfall of Victor Frankenstein

Through attending a university in Ingolstadt, Victor learns a lot about modern science. At this point he decides to create the monster that murders his family. He tries to attain the divine power of creating new life. The monster he creates then attempts to seek revenge on Victor. As Victor's family is being murdered, Victor becomes more and more disillusioned. He seems almost paranoid, "this suspense is a thousand times worse then the most horrible event; tell me what new scene of death has been acted, and whose murder I am now to lament?" (p.164) With remorse, shame, and plenty of guilt, Victor loses touch with reality and is determined to get revenge on the monster. His fear of death causes him to spiral out of control, where he virtually goes insane. Victor can be seen as a classic mad scientist, disobeying all limits without concern. He bravely ventures into unknown scientific land, not to be held responsible for the consequences of his explorations. Everything Victor does backfires on him in some way or another. This causes his breakdown, which could only be ended by himself, Victor Frankenstein. "My present situation was one in which all voluntary thought was swallowed up and lost." (p.185)

"My Mistress's Eyes": William Shakespeare

My Mistresss Eyes is a poem written by William Shakespeare about the love towards an imperfect woman. This poem is also known as Sonnet 10, which is one of Shakespeares many poems. Shakespeare was a master at producing sonnets, and that ability helped him get his messages across to the reader. In this poem, Shakespeare explains that although his mistress is imperfect, he finds his love special and rare. With that understood, the reader can focus on some important details of this poem theme, tone, and form; to better understand and appreciate it.

The theme of this poem is to reflect and understand true love; true love is considered unconditional love. This poem explains the imperfections and even flaws of the writers love. He speaks of her eyes being nothing like the sun, her lips not as red as coral, her breasts an off-white color, her cheeks less red than roses, and her voice not as pleasant as music. He even becomes a bit insulting when he points out that her hairs are like black wires, her breath reeks, and that she treads on the ground when she walks. But despite all these things, he still loves to hear her speak and finds his love rare, recognizable by heaven. This is why Shakespeares outlook on love is different because he found the negative in his love but looked past it, yet most people who truly love are not able to see the bad at all.

The tone in this poem displays contentment in love as well as being very ironic. Even though Shakespeare sees so much wrong with his love and even pokes fun at her, he still loves her. Shakespeare realizes that love is full of imperfections, yet that only makes love stronger. This is a realistic look at his mistress, not a usual love-stuck reflection in a poem of ones love. He has come to realize that she is far from perfect, yet that does not take away from his love for her. It seems as though he is having an epiphany about the truth of love. Maybe he is a young lover, who is coming to terms with the facts and reflecting in a realistic manner. The tone seems to change around line thirteen, when Shakespeare says And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare as any she belied with false compare. At this point we can tell that all the points that were made in lines one through twelve will now be summed up. And this final analysis shows that although he speaks of all of her shortcomings, he sounds satisfied with his love.

This poems form is that of a traditional Shakespearean sonnet. It has three quatrains and a closing couplet. The rhyme scheme for the poem is (ABAB CDCD EFEF GG). William Shakespeare is famous for his work with sonnets, and truly perfected the art of sonnet creation. My Mistresss Eyes contains fourteen lines with ten syllables per line, and follows Shakespeares iambic pentameter meter scheme. In each line, there are five accents of sound, following the iambic pentameter. This form gives the poem a beautiful rhythm, similar to all of Shakespeares masterpieces. Also one should pay close attention to the alliteration and assonance in this poem. We can find a good example of alliteration in line eleven I grant I never saw a goddess go. And But no such roses see I in her cheeks is a primary example of assonance. With the use of so many devices in this poem, it is no wonder we can interpret everything Shakespeare is describing in so few of words.

This poem is a realistic look at the love of the writer. Shakespeare uses iambic pentameter to create this picture. The combination of theme, tone, and form that is used in this poem puts in detail Shakespeare ideas of unconditional love in his life. Again after analyzing this poem we see that Shakespeare explains that although his mistress is imperfect, he finds his love special and rare. Through his form, he creates an easy, flowing, and enjoyable read, displaying his superiority in the art of poetry.

The congressional representatives are elected out of separate districts, and the second district in Nebraska represents myself. The second districts heart is Omaha, the largest city in the state, and also includes the city of Bellevue as another point of importance. The district includes Douglas, Sarpy, and a small part of Cass counties. This district is the metropolitan home to agriculture and many insurance businesses, and its top employers are the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Nebraska Health System, Mutual of Omaha, and the Union Pacific Railroad. The district is consistently republican, anti-abortion, and also contains three quarters of the black population in the state. The second districts major industries are toll-free service centers and food processing, and the district is also home to the Offutt Air Force Base, which is a major military base. The district has a population of about 50,000 people, and off those percent are urban. The district is 87 percent white and 10 percent black, with 5 percent of the population being college educated.

The member of congress for this district is Lee Terry. Terry is from Omaha, went to the University of Nebraska-Omaha and received his B.S. in 184, and then went on to Creighton University, and received his J.D. in 187. Terry's chosen profession was a lawyer, and he was also on the Omaha city council from 11 until 1, which helped out his political career. He ran for the seat in 000 and won easily as he was the favorite to win after Jon Christensen did not run for reelection. Terry breezed through the general election without any trouble at all. Terry is an economic conservative, and is, as expected, a Republican. He is on the House committee of Energy and Commerce, which watches over telecommunications, energy, finance, trade, consumer protection, and business-related legislative issues. He is also involved with the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Telecommunications, the Subcommittee on the Environment, and the Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection. Terry is also the co-chair of the Impact Aid Coalition. Finally, Terry is involved in the Banking and Financial Services Committee.

Senator Terry is a good representative for the district, but not the best by any means. He is involved with the committees that are involved in some ways with the district he represents. The committees that are up there are numerous, and he has found relation to the district with the committees that he has involved himself with. The idea seems to be to get involved in committees that touch base at home and vote across party lines since the district is strongly republican. Terry represents the district in respectable manner, and sticks with the party lines, and you can't say that is bad for popularity in this district. He is firmly against abortion, which coincides with the district beliefs and also supports Medicare and social security, which is district friendly. Also, it is my belief that Terry is a delegate, since he sticks to what the party and district he represents want him to do. I believe this because he is from the Omaha and knows what the people want and can relate to that, and also acting as a delegate is common since it is a good way to hold on to your seat if want to get it next time the elections are up.

Overall, I would say that, despite that it is early in his congressional life, Terry should be able to hold his seat for awhile if he so chooses. I can say that I will vote for him the next time and I will feel good about the decision. I believe that Terry will win his seat if he runs for another term, and win easily. He is a good fit for the district, votes according to the district, and also takes in to account the party affiliation and stays along party lines. It sounds like he just conforms to what others want by the way I am putting it, but isn't that the way the you get elected into political office in the first place. People who don't represent their constituents in a legitimate manner generally are not reelected, and Terry should not have that problem.

The World is Forever Changing

Human nature resists change because we are creatures of habits and routines. William Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily" shows the damage that can be done if a person is unwilling to change, and unable to let go of past ideals.

Emily Grierson is a Southern belle clinging to her old south mentality. She was raised in the south firmly entrenched in the hierarchy of the old wealthy families complete with southern white supremacy ideals. Miss Emily's father instilled in her a belief just as the old southern ways believed that she was above society, and did not have to obey the law of the land or the impending change. "Thus she passed from generation to generation--dear, inescapable, impervious, tranquil, and perverse." Miss Emily kept her old black servant, and her big southern house, the only one left in the town. People saw her less and less, and her inability to change kept her secluded from society. Miss Emily didn't live in the same world that the rest of the town's people lived in. As they evolved she stayed in the past finally leading to her becoming delusional.

She needs to have everything fit into her view of the world. This singular need, to continue with her old South beliefs, overrides everything else. Falling in love doesn't even overcome her need to protect her southern ways. When Emily meets Homer Barron at first it seems that she might overcome the fact that he was northern, and a construction foreman. When some of the town's people begin to talk behind her back, Emily must protect her reputation, which above all else is of importance to a southerner. Emily must find a solution that enables her to save herself and keep Homer. She preserves her public face by pretending to prepare for marriage. She keeps Homer without having to embarrass herself by marrying someone inappropriate by killing him, and keeping his body in her house. Emily manages to hold on to her past, and have Homer forever. Emily's descent into her delusional state didn't begin with Homer. When her father died, she denied that he was dead for three days by keeping the body in her house. She couldn't accept his death. She even cut her hair at one point to try to revert back into a child. "When we saw her again, her hair was cut short, making her look like a girl." She became more crazy as the time went on, and as more changes occurred.

As she clung to the past, her future could never develop. She could not move on, and evolve with the rest of the town's people and the new South. As new generations became the town's "backbone and the spirit of the town", Miss Emily shut herself completely off and never came out of her house. Shutting herself off was the only way for her to resist the changing world. Miss Emilys physical, emotional and mental degeneration was a result of her lack of change. Her decay was even evident physically. She grew fatter, her hair turned gray, and grew very long. Emily was stuck in time, and as a result she began to deteriorate. If you live in the past you cannot evolve as a person.

As the times began to change, the town moved on toward the future. Factories replaced the houses around Miss Emily's house. This shows the gradual change of the past into the present. The past was replaced with present industrialization. There was also an attitude of the people toward the influences of the people in the community that were seen as powerful. The working class began to see and believe in its own self worth. The past influences of the old south and the powerful august names no longer mattered. Miss Emily's house was in the middle of factories, and was seen as "an eye sore among eyesores". It was the last home representing the old south, and all that Emily had left. Miss Emily and her house stood as the last obstruction to the modernization that was taking place in Jefferson. It symbolizes the clinging to the old ways, and everything that Miss Emily believes. She manages to die with dignity in her own home with her old negro servant taking her memories, and her southern reputation with her. She died locked in her home, and locked in her traditions.

You get to experience their happiness, misery, and everything else around them. Theater lets you escape your reality for a moment and dive into another. Big Love, Nickel and Dime, and Pastorela brought some reality into the unreal world of theater.

Nickel and Dime is about the working poor. We believe poor people a poor by choice, but the reality is that there not. We observe a woman trying to make and ends meet. She works more than one job and she has to put up with the cruelty of customers and supervisors. We watch as she goes from job to another and we see her struggle for an apartment. She thinks out loud, so its like we're inside her head. It makes us concentrate on her and forget about us, we become part of her. Everything stops and everyone returns to reality, the actors then question the audience. They ask; "how much do you pay your help, if you have any?" and "have you done that kind of work, and how much did you get paid?" A number of hands come up for all the questions and the audience realizes how real and common it is. This plays touches reality that is oblivious to a big portion of society, the only people that realize it are the ones living it. This play is sure to change your attitude toward hotel, restaurant, service and the rest of our minimum job workers.

Big love is a battle of the sexes and about love. Seeking refuge from pre-arranged marriages, fifty sisters flee to an Italian villa for refuge. The fifty brothers find then and demand for the to comply. The play revolves around three sisters and three brothers. The sisters refuse to be wedded to man they don't love, and the men believe that they had to give in to there demands. This play touches a real theme which was very much alive in pass years, where men were believed to be superior than woman. Many the men and older women in the play persuaded the fifty wives to get married, they believe that a women needs a man to take care of them in order for them to be happy. Both sexes are in a constant battle, the women finally realize that the only way out was to murder the man. The play makes you think about contracts, familial relationships, marriage, the rights of women, and the rights of men over women. The stage was set in just one room, people come in and out and argue their case. The play was like a trial and the audience gets a chance to be the judge.

How much does a person need to be happy? Pastorela touches this theme. The play takes place on Christmas eve in a park. A woman sells flowers in the park and she is encountered by a man who is pushing his pregnant wife in a shopping cart. The woman has a place to sleep, but she is miserable because of the poverty she lives in. She meets the homeless couple who is absolutely content with themselves. The woman cries when she sees their happiness in such a terrible situation. The woman gives them her last dollar and bouquet of flowers even though she needs them. You get to watch other people living in their misery, trying to find happiness in money and others finding happiness by making others miserable. At the end a child is born, his innocence unites the poor together and gives them happiness in spite of their situation. People are never satisfied with what they have, they always want more. These people found happiness with the little bit that they had. The actors bring comedy into their lives of poverty, making you forget about their situation and making you laugh along with them instead of feeling pity for them.

The play, "A Dolls House" was written by Henrik Ibsen. As one researcher put it, "Henrik Ibsen was known as the father of modern drama" (A Career in Drama 1661). He was boring in Skein, Norway in 188. Norway is a country under democratic Monarchy. Although Norway has no set religion, its people are mostly catholic (Wonders of Norway). Ibsen moved to Germany and Italy for 7 years. He was the director of the National Theater in Norway. Also, Ibsen is credited with the development of the realistic "problem play." Henrik often uses realistic settings in his plays.

Women once led shallow lives, doomed to abide by everything their husbands commanded. They were expected to fulfill certain requirements and stick to the straight path of life as a female. This all changed as the play "A Dolls House," accurately depicted one woman's fight for liberation. The play begins by introducing a perfect family complete with a mother, father, and two sweet children. At first life seems to sail along flawlessly. After the play progresses, a world of pain, untruthfulness, and neglect emerges. Nora, mother of two children and wife to Torvald, has a secret she can't let Torvald find out about. Towards the midpoint of the play, Nora finds herself between a rock and a hard place after one of Torvalds past employees' uses blackmail to manipulate his way into a Job. In the end, Nora comes to the realization her life and marriage have never truly existed; and as a result leaves, in search of identity and liberation. Throughout the play, "A Dolls House" there is three distinct cases in which the need for women's liberation can be observed. The first has to do with the hardships Nora experiences while trying to save her husband. The second example is seen in the pet names Torvald uses for Nora. The final situation in which the need presents itself can be seen when Torvald tries to control Nora's behaviors.

In the first few opening lines of the play, Nora learns her husband has become ill. The only treatment available to rid Torvald of his disease was to travel south to a warmer climate. Knowing that Torvald was too tight with money, Nora took it upon herself to raise the funds needed for the trip. The laws at the time didn't allow women to take out a loan with out a man's consent. Nora had a hard time understanding the laws and restrictions of the time. Nora's statements in the World Masterpieces literature book plainly illustrate the confusion. "A wife hasn't the right to save her husbands life…" (51). Nora made the decision to forge her father's signature in order to get the money.

Torvald uses pet names with Nora as a way to keep her under his control. During the play he identifies Nora his little lark; which suggests ownership over her. The web page Summary Central Torvald as saying, "My little songbird mustn't droop her wings. What's this? Is little squirrel sulking?" (56). I feel the names made Nora feel as though she needs Torvald to guide and care for her. Also, the name calling probably make Torvald feel as though he has a deeper relationship with his wife than he really does. As one article put it, "Ibsen uses Torvald's famous pet names for Nora-lark, squirrel-to gibe her a "strong 'animal' identity" and to underscore her inability to understand the ethical issues faced by human beings" (The Demon in The House 45).

For the duration of the third act, Torvald is trying to control Nora's actions. Before the big Christmas dance he tells Nora which dress she will wear and what dance she will perform. Throughout the entire play, Nora is being manipulated like a doll, thus the name a dolls house. She is expected to perform for her husband. At this point in the play I feel Nora must be feeling as though she is not truly loved. If Torvald justly loved Nora, he would have given Nora a chance to discuss the party situation.

Throughout the play it was apparent that women had much less power and far fewer rights than men. Nora struggled to gain respect and opposed the idea of fewer rights until the end of the play. The liberation of women was an extremely significant accomplishment. It allowed women equal rights as men. Without it women wouldn't have the chance to make their own decisions.

COMPARING THE FARTHING HOUSE TO THE RED ROOM

In this essay I am going to be comparing two ghost stories called "The Farthing House" and "The Red Room. My definition of a ghost story is a story filled with tension and suspense.

I will start by looking at the settings from both stories. The farthing house is set in a residential home for elderly people, in the countryside. The red room is set in an old castle where a duchess died 100 years earlier. Both of these settings are good settings for a tense ghost story but the castle is a more stereo-typical setting.

I will now look at the characters in each of the stories. In the red room the main character is the narrator. It uses first person narration which creates tension on its own, as we are seeing everything through his eyes. We don't know what's happening either and we follow everything that happens to him. Also the arrogance of the man builds tension, as it sets you up to think something bad is going to happen to him. You also see his fear slowly build up. The old people also create tension and unease immediately. Their warnings about the room create tension and put the idea into your head that the room is definitely haunted. "It is your own choosing," said the man with the withered arm. //////////////// This quote is used several times to emphasize that what he's doing is nothing to do with them. The hideous appearance of some of the characters also creates unease. In the farthing house the narrator is again the main character. The story is told again in first person perspective. Another character is Mrs. Pearson. "She was younger than I had expected, probably in her late forties." She appears to be very nice but this makes you feel that something just isn't right. Aunt Addy is another character who seems to be very nice. "I sat bolt upright. The previous night I had the sensation of someone having just been in my room." This shows that she is starting to show signs of fear in the room." The main similarity between the two stories about characters is that in both, the main character is the narrator and you see everything from a first person perspective.

I will now go on to talk about the structure in both stories. In the red room the initial setting and expectation is set up very early on with the old peoples warnings and the setting itself. After that though things start to slow down. The tension starts to slowly build up, with the slow and gradual loss of light inside the room, and the continuous references to past incidents inside the red room. This story is written in the past tense but the detailed description in precise detail of every moment cant help but make you think your there, going through the ordeal with him. In the conclusion you find out that there is no ghost in the red room. Its simply fear. This makes you think about how powerful fear can be, and what it can do to your mind. In the farthing house the tension is much more up and down, unlike the continuous rise in the red room. "I'd seen a jay and two deer, and once, like magic, a kingfisher." This is not tense at all but on the very same page you get this, "as I turned right and the road narrowed to a single track, between trees, I began to feel nervous, anxious, I prayed that it would be all right." This suddenly creates a lot of tension in the story. But then, as soon as she arrives, things start to relax again, with the home being as nice as Aunt Addy has said, and Mrs. Pearson being very polite and nice. The setting is firstly described to be very nice but the narrator can feel something sinister, "as I stood on the black and white marbled floor of the entrance porch I felt something else and it made me hesitate before ringing the bell." This creates a lot of tension as it makes you feel that something must be up. Even when the ghosts visit they are inter-cut by jovial events which remove the tension. "That feeling of unease and melancholy passed over me like a shadow again. Now buck up, don't look wan, there isn't time." In the conclusion………….*. The structure of these stories is very different, the main difference being that in the red room there is a steady rise in tension, but in the farthing house the tension goes up and down like a yo-yo.

Should animals be used in psychological research? This is an extremely controversial question that has been debated and analyzed by many researchers and psychologists.

In the article The case for animal research in psychology, Elizabeth Baldwin states, Animals do not have the same rights as humans, but people have a responsibility to ensure the humane treatment of animals. From this quote, I believe that, first animals should be used in psychological research. I do think though, feel that a line should be drawn at using animals in research for unnecessary plastic surgery such as a face lift; but I think that the use of animals for reconstructive surgery, such as, if an individual was severely burned in a fire or disfigured in a car accident, is sufficient.

One of the very important uses of animals is in vaccine research. There are many life- threatening as well as everyday sicknesses that affect human beings. Humans are the backbone of society; we construct businesses, factories, and other necessities of life that control our society. Human beings survive off the responsibilities of other humans. If animals were not used to test these cures than the most sufficient species would slowly diminish. Animals are a significant part of human survival also, but the majority of the animals that are used in research, humans are not dependable on, such as white rats, monkeys, or hamsters. In the past many cures for deadly diseases have been discovered through animal research. Without these vaccines many humans would not have been able to lead normal lives. For example, drugs that were tested on animals have treated depression and other psychological disorders. Animals have aided our society greatly in improving the human condition (Issue , pg. ) and in return there are many federal regulations that protect animals as well as unannounced checks at these laboratories. Also, some vaccines tested on animals have benefited animals from deadly diseases, such as rabies shots, lyme disease, and feline leukemia. Clearly I conclude think that animals should be used in research for vaccines because the benefits from these tests have been a critical role in human survival as well as animal survival.

I also believe that animals should be used in the research of cosmetics and other beauty care. Regardless of whether or not cosmetics are a necessity of life, people are going to continue to use these products. It is important for these products to be tested because again it is critical to the human health and they could have to dangerous side affects. A woman could become blind from using, mascara, a man could have a negative reaction to a shaving cream, or fatal results could even occur from dysfunctional products. I do think that it is necessary for animals to be tested on for cosmetics and other beauty care to prevent any negative or unhealthy results on humans.

I do now draw the line on animal research concerning plastic surgery. I do not think that it is humane to research the results of a face-lift or breast implants on animals. These surgical procedures are unnecessary and are not critical to human health care or survival. The only cosmetic surgery that I believe is sufficient enough to be researched on animals is reconstructive surgery. If a human was burned in a fire or disfigured in a car accident then I believe it is a reason to test the surgery on animals. I also think that life saving procedures should be tested on animals, such as a heart transplant or chemotherapy. These procedures are critical and extremely important in human survival and can also be quite critical in animal survival as well.

Although it is difficult to say whether or not the benefits from animal research outweigh the costs, I believe that many accomplishments and critical outcomes have derived from these tests. I draw the line at cosmetic surgery being abused and practiced on animals for unnecessary procedures. I believe that testing vaccines, cosmetics and other beauty care products, as well as reconstructive surgery should continue to be researched on animals because all of these factors are critical to human and animal health care and survival.

"One morning, upon awakening from agitated dreams, Gregor Samsa found himself, in his bed, transformed into a monstrous vermin"(885). This much we know. But, whether that "monstrous vermin" actually is a giant bug or is still a person isn't as clear as it may seem. "The Metamorphosis" is not necessarily physical, but could be a mental mutation driven by the monotony of Gregor's existence. Kafka may not have meant for us to picture Gregor as an actual bug… but he probably did.

Upon initially reading the short story, the reader probably doesn't think twice about whether Gregor is actually a bug or not. It seems obvious. He wakes up and notices that he is now the owner of a "hard, armorlike back," and "many legs" (885). He learns how to crawl around with his new body, discovers that he likes to eat rotten foods, begins to climb along the walls and ceiling of his room, and can no longer speak a language his family can understand. But, can we trust that all of these things are not just in Gregor's mind? After all, the nonchalance with which Gregor accepts his metamorphosis proves that he is not entirely well. After his discovery, all he thinks about are his consequences for being late to work - "'God Almighty!'… Could the alarm have failed to go off?" (886). He doesn't have a heart attack or go into shock, which most people would probably do in a similar situation. "To hell with it all!" (886), he exclaims, after reflecting on the misery of his job. He contemplates the fact that he has no friends, irregular meals and doesn't get enough sleep. His life is filled with monotony. His family doesn't help much, either they use him as their workhorse. He brings home the bacon, so to speak, and they give him nothing in return. "They had simply grown accustomed to this, both the family and Gregor; they accepted the money gracefully, he was glad to hand it over, but no great warmth came of it."(8.) He has very few passions in his dull life we discover that art is one, based on the hours he spent on his precious frame (80), and that the other is his desire to send his sister to a music conservatory (00). All things considered, Gregor seems a likely candidate for a mental illness. The monotony of his daily life, the absence of rewards, his lack of companionship, his intense passion for art; all these things, piled on top of each other, could cause Gregor to go mad. If he chooses to believe that he's mutated, then a bug is the perfect choice. His family and coworkers step on him, and he gets ignored, and he feels insignificant, just like a tiny little bug. It seems possible that Gregor could have had a mental metamorphosis without an actual physical one.

But we can't make this hasty decision without examining the rest of the evidence. Most of the details in the story give us clues that Gregor has, in fact, morphed into and insect. For example, Gregor discovers that "he occasionally (leaves) traces of his sticky substance behind" (0). Not to mention the fact that he actually finds himself "prowling crisscross over the walls and ceiling" (0). Nobody can understand Gregor's hissing talk. Gregor's father physically attacks him "the father viewed only the utmost severity as appropriate for dealing with him" (06). It seems unlikely that a father would throw things at a mentally disabled son. There is also the simple fact that the family calls Gregor "it." The sister declares, "We've got to get rid of it," and that "you simply have to try and get rid of the idea that it is Gregor" (14). And they do, by starving him. One last piece of evidence that would show us that Gregor really is a bug is the ease with which the Charwoman disposes of his body. After this task she "(stands) beaming in the hallway" and seems to want to tell the family how she did it. (17). With all this evidence it seems highly unlikely that Gregor is anything but what he claims to be, a "monstrous vermin."

Native American society is best known for its elegance and simplistic natural grace. Furthermore however, what even more greatly defines the lifespan of the Native American culture is its tragedies. In the beginning, there was Columbus and the Spanish exploration over the New Worlds. These journeys, fueled by the desire of wealth, brought pain and suffereing both physically as well as mentally to the Native Americans comparable even to the Nazi death camps. Plauge, famine, and poverty followed the conquistadors during the Columbian Exchange and played a crucial part in crippling the Native American culture and cause.

Following the Spainish, Englands entry into the war for the Americas began. In 160 the first Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts, Native Americans got a glance at their next largest and much more permanant competeors for the land. As time went on, and the English had a firm hold in North America, the idea of the United States of America was concieved. The feelings spread like wildfire and soon enough the Revolutionary War broke out. The separation from England had quite a toll on the Native American population who for the most part chose to take the side of the English and suffered another great defeate along with the English. The new country formed clearly excluded the Native Americans from all rights and respects entitled to all other Americans. They were not property owning nor white Protestants, so thusly, they were unable to even have a say in the government formed from underneith them.

As the country grew and underwent the Industial Revolution and entered the Era of Good Feelings, there was not a very good feeling for the Native Americans. The strong nationalistic intentions included the belief of manifest destiny, to control the country from sea to shining sea, and this meant trouble for the Native American population whos population had dropped dramatically not to mention whos spirit was crushed. As the Era of Good Feelings fell to the rise of the Jacksonian Period. Lead by Andrew Jackson during the election of 184, he was a self-assured aristorcrat. Commonly described as having the ideals of a man of the frontier, you can assume he didnt have the best ideas for the savages that blocked his way to the Pacific. During the Industrial Revolution, the Cotton Kingdom had grown immense in the south and with the advent of the Cotton Gin, capable of separating seed from pure, fine cotton, Americans needed the lands east of the Mississippi. Jackson acted swiftly, and mercilessly, propsing the relocation of the Southeastern Indians. This Indian Removal Act was passed in 180 and it called for the Native Americans to move to public lands beyond the Mississippi. In the words of the hisotrian Robert Remini, the law was harsh, arrogant,racist- and inevitable (Textbook 1). These three events in Native American history are just three trageties of many. They were forced against their will to undergo all different forms of abuse and are still a commonly misunderstood race of human beings. From the bondage of the Spanish colonization to the first encounter with the English to the forceful movement under the Jacksonian Era, the plight of the Native Americans is a story to be felt by all.

The legend of a long-lost white brother, a bearded white or alien god who would return one day from the East or South, was prevalent moung many Indian tribes of preColumbian Merica and especially among those tribes living in what is now the American Southwest, Mexico and central America (Locke 1). This common belief in a white male fueled mass hysteria during the coming of the Spanish for Native Americans. They honestly believed that a white man would come from a forien land to regain his control over the Americas, and the Native Americans were without a doubt correct. On October Twelveth, 14 at two a.m., the new world is sighted by Rodrigo de Triana, thus beginning the legacy of power struggle for the Americas. Upon his first encounters with the natives, he believed them to be savages and set the standard for countless generations of racism and bias against them. He wrote a letter to his officials in Spain, Ferdinan and Isabella saying they would make good servants s and would benefit from Christianity. (Kehoe 177)

Abigails Guilt

To vice, innocence must always seem only a superior kind of chicanery. Ouida (18-108) In The Crucible Abigail committed the greatest of crimes. She destroyed the reputations of many and killed many as well. She influenced others to her evil way and killed out of greed. She managed to get away with her life without even a question of guilt, and as the hysteria of witchcraft grew in Salem she did not fear anyone. She was in control over the town and ran it with fear of death. Her magic wands spell was the simple accusation of witchcraft. Her power lied in the fact that judges believed her, and all the girls followed her. She was guilty of murder by lying to court, having an affair with a married man, and accusing simply for greed. Abigail lied to the courts on numerous occasions. No, I cannot, I cannot stop my mouth; its Gods work I do. (Abigail 115) At this point she is trying to prove to the court that she is being bewitched. If she was bewitched, why would it be happening in court? The accused obviously would not want to prove her guilt in front of a judge with an edgy finger for signing death certificates. Also, Abigail lied to get some backing on her accusations by accusing two of the worst ladies in town of witches, as well as a black slave from Barbados. This was very believable, as these women held no social rank among the town. This has been a common way throughout history to get support for individuals and groups. The Nazi party in Germany accused Jews of all their economic woes. It gained backing among the party as they looked for blame, and Nazis gained from it power. Abigail is a skillful liar and a quality enemy. Abigail purposely hurt herself for evidence in court. I have been hurt…I have seen my blood runnin out! I have been near to murdered everyday because I done my duty pointing out the Devils people. (Abigail 108) She was very good about pinning guilt on others and the fact that she was the victim. She had a way with convincing both the judge and jury. Abigail was a liar but was not charged of it. Abigail had an affair with a married man, and knew he was. A great sin in all cultures was committed by her and her lover Proctor. I know how you clutched my back behind your house and seated like a stallion whenever I come near! Or did I dream that? Its she put me out, you cannot pretend it were you. I saw your face when she put me out, and you loved me then and you do now. (Abigail ) She truly loved him but also began to have an obsession with him. She was very young at 17, while Proctor was in his mid-thirties. Her age and inexperience probably played a role in this obsession, she had never felt love as she did with an older Proctor. Abigail was indeed a sinner and capable of evil. Grand theft and perjury are one thing, but playing with emotions, like Abigail did was obviously a great crime. Abigail accused for greed. She wanted, but it wasnt gold or diamonds it was a man. She wanted John Proctor, and to get him, she was rounding up accusations for Elizabeth his wife. I have something better than hope, I think. (Abigail ) Abigail was plotting to get Proctor, she was not just doing it out of the heat of passion, she had it in for his wife. She thought that it was the only thing that stood in her way. Hope, was nothing when she had a powerful accusation that was almost unprovable. She lied in court, and made poppets to prove Elizabeth, Proctors wifes guilt. She was a skillful artisan in deceit and dismay, and caused many problems for the good people of Salem Village. She was not going to stop until her death had been accomplished. She made a tactical error and allowed her sweet John Proctor to get swallowed by the giant, witchcraft. Abigail killed the wrong person. Even though, she did not confess. She did not even skip a beat. She had left her love to choke on a rope, which truly was no love at all. Abigail was not innocent by any means. Abigail was evil. Abigail did not love, did not hesitate with lie after lie, she was free with love and went after married men. She was guilty of all these crimes and the main antagonist in the story and opposed almost everybody, on her one conquest, which was to save her self. She caused so much grief and anguish that she was indeed evil and did not fret a bit at her actions toward the town. Abigail committed the greatest crimes and should have been punished.
