Custom Essays on Zanarkan

Government

Gracegoth

There was once a world just like ours. But this world

was connected. There were no wars, and no boundaries.

Because people all worked together, the society became very

advanced. Inventions were flying in faster than ever before.

Machines were being built, and they began taking over jobs

usually done by humans. People began relying more and more

on machines to get by, until one day...

It began as a peaceful day off the coast of Gracegoth. A

small town called Morrowind was following the daily

routine, men were at work, operating machines while the

women took care of the little ones before they headed off to

school. A young boy was playing on the beach when he saw

the ocean began to swell. The hill in the ocean was getting

bigger and bigger. All of a sudden, a beast rose out of the

water. It was said to cover the sky, no less than a mile long. It

destroyed the town, and began it's destruction. It seemed to

shoot out missiles with massive destruction, and with a single

breath, it wiped out entire cities. Gracegoth's great armies

stood in front of it, and shot everything in there arsenal. But

more of the planet was destroyed than what was done by the

beast. In less than a week, it had destroyed the world.

Nothing was left, every city and town had been

destroyed, nothing could stop the monster. Only groups of

people where left, and they tried to plot the beast's

destruction, but it hunted them down. It's power was

unstoppable, and it left only a few survivors. One of them

was the Great Sayiaman. He was said to be seven feet tall, and

had the strength of ten men, and the wisdom of five

generations. He led the rest of the survivors to try and hide

from the monster, but it found them, and spoke to him. To this

day, no one knows how the beast communicated with the Great

Sayiaman. But it did, and it said not in words, but in his mind " I

have left a few, enough to start over. I am called Sin, and I

have come and cleansed the earth of the machines and all who

worship them." And that is it. The Great and wise Sayiaman led

the rest of planet Gracegoth's survivors, and started over.

Many things happened since then. All machines were

banned, and people feared to even speak of it. The world's

name was changed to Zanarkan, which means "free from sin" in

their language. As the generations passed, people became

more religious. The god Yevon was discovered, and many

people devoted their life to him. Sin still attacked, but it

became rare, and less devastating. Then Yevon offered a way

to defeat Sin.

It wasn't permanent, but everyone was willing to hear

Yevon out. Yevon explained that there are 7 temples left on

Zanarkan. They are ancient ruins of Gracegoth, the time

before Sin. In each temple, there is a spirit. If someone was

able to gather the power from each of these 7 spirits, they

would contain the seven elements needed to destroy Sin. This

someone had to pass the trials of the 8th element. If someone

passes these trials, you would become a Summoner. Only a

Summoner can gather these 7 elements. So one man, Goku,

stood up and went through the trials. He brought his body

guards Yamcha and Tien to make the pilgrimage to the 7

temples.

As they did this, they realized that Sin knew of this plan,

and monsters were sent to protect the 7 temples. Somehow,

they made the trip and gathered all seven elements, and faced

Sin where it all started, the ancient city Morrowind, where Sin

first attacked. Goku did not yet realize, but he had to give his

life in order to stop sin. Yevon showed him how to use the

elements, and Goku did. The 7 elements gathered into Goku,

who was the eighth element, and destroyed Sin. The period

that followed was called the Calm. It lasted 7 years right

up to the date, before Sin appeared again.

Here we are now, more than 00 years after the first

Summoner Goku destroyed Sin for the first time, and over 800

years after Sin first appeared. The world no longer contains

machines, and cities are a limited size. Each city has a Yevon

4

place of worship, and one Summoner. Every 7 years, all the

Summoners compete to be the next great savior, and fulfill

their destiny as the 8th element.

Not every city has a Summoner, but every city has to elect

one person to go through the trials and try to become one. No

matter if the Calm has just started, every city must have a

Summoner or a priest (one that has not yet passed the trials)

at all times. These Summoners must always have at least two

Guardians at all times, chosen by the Summoner.

All laws are passed by the Elders. They are a collection

of 1 people who make all decisions. When one member dies or

retires, the people elect another member. These members are

appointed by three different parties. They are the Patriots,

the Hyrules, and the Dragons. Each party appoints one

person for each election that takes place.

That's it, there is no House of legislature or anything,

the board members keep themselves in line. For them to pass a

law, a majority of the members has to approve of it. They vote

once, while one member hosts the situation. So this way, 11

vote, never leaving a tie. The decisions are final, and can be

challenged after a years time. Each Summoner has to appoint

a mayor for his or her city. With issues dealing with the city, it

is pretty much up to the mayor.

The Elders deal with things like Sin and global issues.

The laws have it set up so that each city is only allowed to

have 5,000 citizens residing. Cities are spread out, so this

5

forces the economy to rely on its city. So though you have a

choice of job, you are better off doing something you are good

at. Keeping these smaller cities keeps more order. If a

company is owned, most of the time it is only local. If not, it

has to be careful not to overlap the monopoly laws.

Dealing with laws, if any city law directly or partially is

opposed to the national law, than it can be overturned in a

case. If a man is charged with breaking a law in a city, and is

charged, than the man can bring it to the Elders, and, if

chosen, it is then in their hands. The Elders do not answer to

anyone, but usually leave alot of smaller issues in the hands

of the cities.

Here are the Amendments passed by the original 1

Elders, of which included the Great Sayaiman

No law shall be passed that is seemingly dealing only

with peoples morals.

Machines can never be used or created. If one is found,

then it must be reported to the nearest political figure, then

bought up to the Elders.

Every city must vote on a priest, and the priest must try

to pass the 8th element trials once a year, until accomplishing

the rank of Summoner.

The Summoner must have at least two Guardians at a

time, chosen by the Summoner.

The Summoner must use good judgment, and appoint a

mayor for his or her city.

6

No one shall enter the temples except Guardians and

Summoners.

The 7 temples are to only be entered 5 years before Sin's

next appearance.

A city must have a Summoner or priest at all times.

If an Elder dies or retires, a new one must be gathered by

the parties, and voted in 6 months time.

A person has the right to speak, write, or display his or

her thoughts in none physical ways.

No one is to attack Sin, except the eight element.

You must clean up any mess left from dogs or cats in

public places.

A company can never have more than 5,000 employees in

its branch.

All decisions by the Elders are final.

All must abide by the ten commandments set by Yevon.

This list contains over 1,000 laws that can be tweaked and

overturned by the Council. If an issue is more than the Elders

can bare, a Council Meeting is in effect. This means that all

Mayors, Summoners, and their Guardians from all of the 1,546

cities in Zanarkan must travel to the Corinth Tower, where

all representatives and the Elders will discuss matters.

Dealing with the economy, the Elders are very strict

about currency. The Elders decide on how much Zeni will be

dispersed into Zanarkan. If more Zeni is needed, a mayor may

confront the Council. Taxes are collected once a year. An

7

amount of 500 Zeni is collected from each house. Depending

on how many non-working people live in the house, the taxes

are brought down. For every woman and child, 10% is

deducted from their due. There are no exceptions, all taxes

must be paid. This forces people to work, but the amount is

low enough to not pressure people to take drastic measures

to make the pay.

Each city is forced to have at least ten law enforcers at

a time. They are paid by the Tax house. The Tax house gathers

the tax money, and balances the money. They distribute

paychecks to Summoners, Guardians, Mayors, and law

enforcers. The Tax house also uses the money to recover

from disasters such as Sin attacking.

Back to the law enforcers, they are highly trained. The

Elders began forcing them to be combat compatible ever since

the group Al-Queda was formed. They are a group of outlaws

who do not believe in Yevon. They don't believe that machines

have anything to do with Sin. They mostly live on ship in the

sea. They go around collecting ancient machines, and building

new ones. Because of their knowledge of the machines, they

are considered highly dangerous.

The law requires that you not assist a member of

Al-Queda in any way. And if you spot one, than you must report

a law enforcer immediately. Law enforcers are required to

try and bring in the Al-Queda alive. If the Al-Queda puts up a

resistance, and a law enforcer feels that his or her life is

8

endangered, than a law enforcer may take down a member of

the Al-Queda.

Currently there are ten agents that are trying to

infiltrate the lawless group Al-Queda. These agents are part

of the group Fox Hound. They are the most highly trained

group in Zanarkan. They are approved by at least one the

Elders. But since the Al have not yet harmed another person,

it does bring up controversy about there death warrants. But

they break one of the most serious laws that can be broken.

Currently, the Calm has been going on for more than 6

years. The Summoners have all begun their pilgrimages. The

one that everyone is keeping there eye on is the 7 year old

Yuna. She is the daughter of the Legendary Majjin Buu. Majjin

Buu was 48 years old when he bore his first child, Yuna. Only

two months later did Buu finish his pilgrimage, and destroy Sin.

Yuna is now the center of attention. She even met with the 1

Elders, who wished her luck before she set off.

Usually, Sin is not killed as soon as he appears. He can,

and will attack anything from land to water. During this time,

it is custumary to visit a church and give alms to Yevon at

least twice a week. You cannot stay outside after eight o'

clock, and you cannot travel outside a city alone. No one is

allowed to say the word "machine" at all during the time of

Sin.

The 7 Temples do not contain elemential spirits until 4

months before Sin appears. On this date, all Summoners are

required to attend the World's Fair, hosted in Saulino at the

center of the Zanarkan. It is a big celebration before the

Summoners set off. It doesn't matter what order the Temples

are visited, so not every Summoner will start at the same

temple. When it is all finished, no one, not even Guardians are

allowed to step into the ancient city of Morrowind except for

the eighth element.

This was stated by the founding fathers of Zanarkan,

100 years after the Great Sayiaman died. When Zanarkan

first started, there was no council of Elders. There was only

one ruler, the emperor. The emperor were the exact

decendants of the Great Sayiaman. In these times, Zanarkan

was a communist world. When a child was born, they used

ancient techniques to figure out his or her main talent. The

child was then educated in that field, and eventually grew up

working for society. They had no currency back then, and

everyone was given an equal house, with equal amounts of

food and furniture for their house.

But it was soon discovered that society was not

functioning properly. Needed occupants in fields were left

empty. There became shortages for some jobs, and over

employed for other areas. Thats when Zanarkan was brought

out of communism. Soon enough though, the load of running a

whole planet became too much for one man. So the title of

emperor was banished, and the 1 Elders came to be. The first

1 members wrote a constitution

10

We are the first 1 Elders of Zanarkan. Our job is to

insure the freedom and happiness of the people of Zanarkan.

The nation of Zanarkan shall never be seperated. We are a

union of people. We are all equal, and shall never be denied

our human rights.

The's are the rights to live, to be free, to have justice,

and the right to be happy. Sin created what we see and live

today. We will always do what is in our power to stop the pain

and suffering Sin causes, even if the unorthodox methods are

only temporary.

As a law enforcer or Guardian, we promise to protect

the live or lives of others, with our life if necessary. We will

be all that we can be, and assist in life.

As a person, we promise to contribute to our society, and

pay our full taxes when due. We promise not to interfere with

anything dealing with sin. We will show the upmost respect

for Summoners and Guardians, and we will respect the laws

of Mayors and the Elders.

As a Mayor of a City, we promise to reflect the

leadership of the Elders. We deal with problems exactly as

an Elder would do. The laws that we add will only protect

citizens, and help them better their lives.

And finally, as a Summoner, we promise to try to the best

of our ability to become an 8th element. We will use all in our

power to pass the trials, and complete our pilgrimage. We

11

will face Sin with courage, and save the lives of everyone in

Zanarkan. We understand that our duty is of the upmost

importance, and we will accomplish it with Pride and Integrity.

Abide by this constitution, and Zanarkan will live on

forever under Yevon's blessful watch. Your rights shall

never be broken.

Death Sentence

An eye for an eye! If you hit me, I'll hit you back! It this the principle we want to pass down to our future generation? According to the jury on the case of Alexander Sorto, a criminal that was given the death sentence for the murder of two victim, this is the principle we want to pass down to our children. After reading over the article that contain the information on the case, I have take my stand on opposing with the jury decision. I think that the jury didn't made the right decision. There are three factors that helped me reach my final decision first, does government or civilian that participate in the trail have the right to take away someone else life, second, the execution of innocent people, and third it is cruel to put a person to death.

Does the government or the jury have the right to take away another person life? As we all know, the government have the right to protect its people from harm, but the government does not have the right to judge whether or not a person have to give up his life for the crime that he had commit. On the other hand, jury are civilian who participate to fulfill their duty as a citizen of the United States, no more then the government have the right to decision whether a person should live or die. Neither both of them have that right.

For example, the government has the right to self defense, such as, a policeman firing on a dangerous criminal. Then does a civilian have the right to shoot an intruder, who is trying to enter his home. What is the civilian catches the intruder, incapacitated him, and had him under control, then shoot the intruder, would that be considered murder. This proves that whether you a law enforcer or a civilian you still don't have the right to confiscated someone life.

The second factor is what if the person who's being execute is innocent? Can the government give the person back his life that they had taken away? There are many case in the old days that people didn't had a fair trail and was executed for a crime they didn't have commit. The execution of an innocent person comes somewhat close to a murder. The risk of executing an innocent person is impossible to calculate, but is it not zero. For example, one time I watched a movie name "The life of David Gale". In this movie David Gale play an important role. All his life David Gale had try everything to abolish the death penalty, but time after time he was accuse of crimes that he did not commit. It had even ruin his career as a college professor at a well known university, but nothing compare to the last crime that he was convict of the murder of his best friend. Soon after the trail Gale was executed. At the end of the movie, the report that had the last interview with Gale, release a video tape that review the murder was a stage set up by Gale best friend to prove that the death penalty is unjust. This movie make me realize that the government make mistake and innocent people can be kill from it.

The last factor is that the death penalty is cruel. For those who have never witness an execution does not know how it feel to seat in the execution chair waiting for death to catch up to you. The cruelest part of the execution is to know your going to death soon, and there are nothing you could do beside seating there and count the time you have left. Also the methods that are often use to execute people are found to be extremely cruel. It often takes ten minutes or more for a felon to die in the electric chair. The only methods that is known not to be painful is the lethal injection, which we know very little of.

Since grade school we were taught to forgive and forget, but how come we can't apply that standard to our every day life? Why should we put someone to death just because they took away our loves on? We doing just the same thing to they just as they did to us. Therefore, I think that the verdict which the jury had made is incorrectly. There are better methods to punish a person for the crime they commit rather then the death penalty. Furthermore, I hope that all these facts support my position about the verdict.

"It is equally heinous intentionally to kill a human being in existence at fertilization, as to kill a larger pre-born child" (Nellie Gray). One out of every four pregnancies in America end in abortion. About half of the women in North America will have at least one abortion in their lifetime(Robinson). This showing that half the mothers in American will have killed at least one of their children. This is happening because women now believe they have the right to decide what goes on in their bodies, not considering the rights of the little child they created more out of their own freewill. Abortions should not be used as a form of contraceptive. Abortions are profoundly negative, given they are dangerous to one's health and morally wrong, but there are several places set up to help women with other alternatives abortion.

Ninety-five percent of abortions are sought for personal, not medical reasons; such as, to exercise birth control or not have a child because of social and economical reasons and to prevent giving birth to a child with serious deformity, mental deficiency, or genetic abnormality. Only five percent of abortions are sought to preserve the life, physical, or mental well being of the mother or to prevent the completion of a pregnancy resulting from incest or rape (Robinson). There are several different types of abortions each with several risks and side effects.

"The dangers inherent in abortions, even when carried out under the best of conditions, can be illustrated by the fact that it is al least twice as safe to have a baby delivered normally than it is to have an abortion" (Luker ). The first type of abortion is a medical abortion. This is a drug used to treat ulcers. It prevents the embryo from dividing and expels it within a week. It has a number of side effects; such as, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal cramping, hot flashes, sores in the mouth, vomiting, dizziness, and fever and chills. This procedure is only ninety percent reliable. If the embryo is not expelled and the child lives, it will be seriously deformed (Robinson). Manual Vacuum aspiration, or Mini-vac for short, is a technique that is becoming very available in North America. It is a little vacuum that is used to suck the embryo out of the mother's womb. This can cause an extreme amount of blood loss. Hemorrhaging is considerable, especially if normal activities are resumed to soon (Luker 1). RU-486 is a drug taken that causes the woman to have "mild" contractions which expel the embryo. It causes nausea, headaches, weakness, diarrhea, fatigue, deep cramps and/or bleeding for several days (Robinson). Dilation and Curettage is when and instrument with a sharp loop at the end is inserted into the uterus and scrapes the inside wall. "The aim of the operation is to locate the placenta and embryo or fetus and mutilate them to the point where they can be scooped out" (Luker ). This can cause serious complications that can send the mother into shock or even be fatal (Robinson). Lastly, there is Dilation and Evacuation. This is when a type of seaweed is used to dilate the cervix and the fetus is broken up and removed in pieces with forceps. This can cause severe blood loss, diarrhea, dizziness, cramps, and headaches for days. Abortions are not only physically harmful, but morally wrong.

When a fetus becomes a human is a highly discussed topic. President George W. Bush states, "Through sonograms and other technology, we can clearly that unborn children are members of the human family as well. They reflect our image, and they are created in God's own image" (qtd in Robinson). Seventy-six percent of Americans say that they

Custom writing service can write essays on Legalized Murder

are Christians (Robinson). If so, the Bible states in Psalms 11-16,

"For You have formed my inward parts; You have covered me in my

mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

marvelous are Your work's, and that my soul knows very well. My frame

was not hidden from You, when I was made in the lowest parts of the earth.

Your eyes say my substance, being yet unformed, and in Your book they all

were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them"

(New King James Bible).

This verse implies that the God of Christianity believes every fetus is a human from the time of conception and that he has a plan and a life already picked out for each and everyone of them. "Each fetus is totally dependent and potentially a member of society and each possesses a degree of humanity" (New Encyclopedia Britanica). These parents aborting their children could be killing the next Nobel Prize recipient, cure for cancer or Aids, or our next great Leader. Each child deserves a chance at the life that the creator of this world has picked out for them. If a mother is allowed to kill her child while still in her womb then why not when it's older? Many women's rights activist argue that the woman has the right to choose what happens to her body. If so, why is it legal to abort her baby, but illegal to commit suicide? Abortion isn't the only option to an unwanted pregnancy.

There are several ways to deal with a pregnancy without an abortion. If someone believes they may be experiencing a crisis pregnancy and don't want an abortion, there are several places that offer support. One could phone a local Crisis Pregnancy Center or an agency listed in the white or yellow pages under "Abortion Alternatives." One could also phone their local distress/crisis/suicide prevention/community information center and ask for the phone number of a local "pro-life" group. Visit the Crisis Pregnancy Centers On-line to get a list of US centers. Call the National Life Center at 1-800-848-LOVE. This center is open 4 hours a day and can help anyone find the nearest Crisis Pregnancy Center . Finally phone America's Crisis Pregnancy Helpline at 1-888-4OPTIONS. All of these places can provide someone with the support they need during their pregnancy and help them decide the best option for their pregnancy.

There are several places set up to help women with other alternatives abortion to keep women from dealing with the danger of the procedures and the morals issues afterward. If only more women would realize the dangers of an abortion and not try to use it as a contraceptive. Abortions should be illegal unless performed to save the mothers life or to stop a pregnancy from rape or incest. If it is legal in America to perform infanticide, why did we stop the genocide in Germany? People can try to candy coat abortion, but they can't change the fact that it's murder. It's the worst kind of murder, killing someone who has done nothing to harm anyone.

FOR THIS MY LIFE I'D GIVE

I'd love to touch that little face

And hold that little hand.

But that is not what I had in mind,

For you were never in my plan.

I never thought it would come to this,

When first I tried to please a man.

He said he'd truly love me,

But no sooner was he satisfied...he ran.

Now I was left with his burden,

Not thinking about taking this chance.

But I, as a woman had a choice of my own.

I'll never hear that wee small voice,

Or see my little one dance.

Now this choice, that is of my own making,

Is tugging at my soul.

And the regrets, that I am having,

Are taking their vengeful toll.

Oh Lord, that I could retrieve my choice

And let that little one live,

And to feel It's little arms around me.

For all of this, now,

MY LIFE I'D GIVE.

"I was hurried away by fury; revenge alone endowed me with strength and composure; it molded my feelings and allowed me to be calculating and calm at periods when otherwise delirium or death would have been my portion." (p. 185)

Victor Frankenstein changes over the course of the novel Frankenstein from an innocent youth, fascinated by the prospects of science, into a disillusioned, remorseful man determined to destroy the fruits of his arrogant scientific endeavor. Throughout the course of Victors life, his every action and thought causes him to bring about his own downfall. Victor is very interested in science and the "secret of life." He brings a human like monster to life, but his curiosity backfires on him. Torn by remorse, shame and guilt, Victor refuses to confess to anyone the monster he created, even as he sees the outcome of his creative act spiraling out of control.

Assembled from old body parts and strange chemicals, Victor brings a monster to life by using a mystifying spark. The enormously strong, eight feet tall monster has no knowledge of life, with the mind of a newborn. Deserted by his creator Victor, he is bewildered about what he is and tries to integrate him self into society. Afterward realizing his physical grotesqueness, he understands why society is blind to his gentle, kind nature. This is recognized when the monster assists a group of poor peasants, and saves a girl from drowning. He is rewarded only with beatings and looks of disgust. The monster seeks vengeance on Victor, and murders Victor's younger brother, William. Williams's death deeply saddens Victor and burdens him with tremendous guilt about having created the monster. The monster he creates turns out to be very intelligent, "if I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear, and chiefly towards you, my archenemy, because my creator, do I swear inextinguishable hatred." (p.11). Along with the monsters intelligent ways comes a very vengeful feeling toward Victor. The monsters rage toward his creator causes Victor to become anxious and determined to overthrow his creation. Victor is doomed by a lack of humanness. He cuts himself off from the world and eventually commits himself entirely to an animalistic obsession with avenging himself upon the monster. Victor attempts to create a female monster to ease the monsters segregation. After Victor destroys his work on the female, the monster murders Victor's best friend Henry Cleval and Victor's wife Elizabeth Lavenza. After the deaths of Victor's younger brother, best friend, wife and father, Victor becomes torn between the life of science and destroying the monster, and the reality of life and family.

Through attending a university in Ingolstadt, Victor learns a lot about modern science. At this point he decides to create the monster that murders his family. He tries to attain the divine power of creating new life. The monster he creates then attempts to seek revenge on Victor. As Victor's family is being murdered, Victor becomes more and more disillusioned. He seems almost paranoid, "this suspense is a thousand times worse then the most horrible event; tell me what new scene of death has been acted, and whose murder I am now to lament?" (p.164) With remorse, shame, and plenty of guilt, Victor loses touch with reality and is determined to get revenge on the monster. His fear of death causes him to spiral out of control, where he virtually goes insane. Victor can be seen as a classic mad scientist, disobeying all limits without concern. He bravely ventures into unknown scientific land, not to be held responsible for the consequences of his explorations. Everything Victor does backfires on him in some way or another. This causes his breakdown, which could only be ended by himself, Victor Frankenstein. "My present situation was one in which all voluntary thought was swallowed up and lost." (p.185)

Rights and Responsibilities, this term can be taken into several aspects, it could refer to nations coming together to defend the rights of their people, or factions forming out of responsibility to further what they believe in, or even in some cases, a brave individual, standing up against all odds, realizing his or her responsibility to improve the situation and rights of themselves and of their people. In the 150s and 160s a movement caught the attention of the United States, and threw our normally stable country into upheaval. Opinions clashed across the nation, racist whites, accustomed to the "normalcy" of treating blacks as inferior were against a group looking for change; a group of liberal and compassionate whites, joined with African-American men and women with their minds set on becoming equal, or in some cases the superiors. Although many men and women contributed to this fight for equality or superiority, almost none had the influential ability of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. These two men were without a doubt the driving force behind their respective organizations and beliefs. They were in many ways very different, from how they lived, to what they actually believed in and wanted, but in many ways, they both had the same major goal to improve the current situation, and gain more RIGHTS for their people. Martin Luther King was recognized around the world, in America, Europe, and Asia he was supported for his courageous efforts, and incredible oratorical ability. Malcolm X was a major religious figure to most militant blacks in the 150s and 160s, his words reached thousands by way of his incredible speeches and lectures given at mosques and in crowded halls all over the United States, like King, Malcolm X had and uncanny ability to passionately give speeches. Throughout history, many different movements have been made, anti-war in the Vietnam War era as well as today, anti-imperialism as seen with Gandhi in India, and the aforementioned Civil Rights movement of the 50s and 60s; and throughout all of these movements people have stepped up to stand for what they believe in. In the Civil Rights movement, two of the most memorable and important figures to do this were Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., through protests such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott, or being the spokesperson for an entire religion in the United States, these two men, through their own means not only established a foundation for others to show bravery and fight for equality on, but they also paid the ultimate price, their beliefs ended up costing them their lives.

Segregation on public buses had started in Baton Rouge, Louisiana however after it was stopped there, the new main spot for racism on buses was in Montgomery, Alabama, and in most of the rest of the South, segregation on buses was legal. Whites would sit in the front of the bus, with a "no man's land" in the middle seats of the bus, and then the blacks could sit in the back of the bus, the whole time a moveable barrier was pushed back, giving the blacks even less room. And in the so-called "no man's land" if a white felt like sitting down in a row where all blacks were sitting, then the entire row of blacks would be forced to stand up, and the one white could sit down. However segregation was the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the horrible way the blacks were treated on the buses, the bus drivers in many cases were racist; they would call the blacks "nigger", "black ape", or "black cow". Even if the front seats were empty, a black person couldn't sit in them, even if the rest of the bus was full. Another common happening was for the bus driver to take the fare from a black at the front of a bus tell them to board on the back of the bus, and when they got there, the driver would speed away, with the already paid fare. Very few times, people had tried to stand up to the extreme racism that took place on these buses. Claudette Colvin was arrested in 155 for sitting in the front of the bus, however, black leaders found this to be the wrong time to use an example to get rid of segregation; Colvin was not their "perfect victim" because she was pregnant at the age of 15. Even before then, in 14, Jo Ann Robinson sat in the front of an empty bus, but ran from the bus crying after the driver screamed at her. Also, Vernon Johns, a black man, tried to get other blacks to leave a bus after being forced to give up his seat; he failed, and was told by another black "You ought to know better". The black leaders could not find their "poster child" that all changed on December 1st, 155. A seamstress from Montgomery, Alabama named Rosa Parks stepped onto the bus, she had a spotless criminal record when she walked on, and when she walked off she would not. Parks was going home after a long day of work, her feet were tired, and when she boarded the bus, she had no intention of having to stand the whole time, she took a seat and the bus driver rode away. Soon after a white man would board the bus, he walked over to Parks and told her to move, she refused, and the bus driver, James F. Blake, who had evicted Parks from the bus in 145, called the police and she was arrested for not giving up her seat. E.D. Nixon found out what had happened, and called Martin Luther King Jr., he informed him of the situation, and also planted the idea of a boycott in King's mind. King met the next day with Nixon, Reverend Ralph Abernathy, and Jo Ann Robinson to talk about how to handle the situation, they decided upon a boycott. On December 4th, a meeting was to be held for the blacks of Montgomery to attend, 40,000 handbills were passed out. On December 4th, King delivered a speech that he would go on to call "The most decisive speech of my life", he convinced the people of Montgomery that the bus boycott was the logical solution to their problems of segregation. King rolled the idea in his mind and thought that if 60% of the blacks stayed off of the buses, then it would be a successful boycott, however, the next day his wife called him over to the window, and he saw empty buses, rolling down the streets. The boycott was almost a total success on the first day, 0% of blacks stayed off of the buses. The boycott continued into the next year, people were using mules, carpools, and going by foot to wherever they had to go. Both Martin Luther King Jr. and E.D. Nixon's homes were bombed during the boycott, however, they continued to push the movement. Whites made many attempts to stop the boycott. The "Get Tough" policy was enacted, allowing police to stop cars for no reason. The officers would harass carpool drivers for going one mile per hour faster than the allowed speed limit, they would also pull them over for going "too slow". The whites also would start rumors questioning the dignity of the leaders, at one point they claimed that King had purchased a new Buick for his wife, along with a Cadillac, and both of these were false. Also, important whites would tell the protest leaders that if King weren't in charge, things could change overnight. King offered his resignation because of these claims, but that was denied by other members of the group, saying that they would follow him to the end. Whites also falsely claimed a meeting had been held that called the boycott to an end to try to get blacks on the bus. King and other leaders new that the boycott would break soon, so they offered suggestions for change on the bus, such as polite bus drivers, first come-first serve seating, and black drivers on black routes. The city denied these offerings, so the blacks looked to the Federal Court to sue for full integration, the Federal Court ruled in favor of them -1. The city appealed, and the case made it to the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court upheld the decision, and declared bus segregation unconstitutional, the boycott was over. The Bus Boycott is known as the start of the Civil Rights movement. Not only did it integrate the buses in one of the most racist parts of the nation, but it also gave hope to the blacks that they could accomplish full equality, while at the same time giving Martin Luther King national recognition.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the most known Civil Rights leaders around the world. His efforts in the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the March on Washington, and his speeches have been used as examples of true human good. He was the president of the Montgomery Improvements Agency (MIA) and was one of the founding ministers and president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). As mentioned before, he was a part of the committee that decided on the Montgomery Bus Boycott that gained integration on the buses in Montgomery and at the end of the boycott, he was the first person to board a Montgomery bus under the new integration. His non-violent Gandhi-like methods of resistance gained him support from different countries around the world, such as Japan, Switzerland, and England. Back in America however, he was harassed and attacked often. He would receive obscene phone calls between thirty and forty times a day. His house was bombed during the bus boycott, however he kept his calm and kept hundreds of blacks from rioting afterwards. The white police officers who were trying to keep them back would later say that King saved their lives. Through all of this, he still led the great 16 March on Washington, which ended with his famous "I Have a dream" speech. Between 50,000 and 400,000 people, black and white were in the audience outside of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. to hear that speech. King's major ideas for the Civil Rights movement were in the direction of becoming equal socially and economically, he did a lot of focusing on education. He also looked to help the black people believe that they were not inferior to the white man. Many had been so oppressed by the idea of inferiority, that they actually believed that they were lesser beings than the whites, they were not nearly educated as well as whites, and they were not in political situations in which they could have any control over material resources. His aforementioned oratorical abilities gained him worldwide recognition, he is still known today is one of the most passionate speakers in history. His work in gaining equality for blacks won him a Nobel Prize and now his birthday is even celebrated in the form of a national day of service. On April 4th, 168 King was looking to assist a garbage worker's strike in Memphis. He was shot and killed, James Earl Ray was later apprehended, convicted, and sentenced to years in prison for killing King. King is seen as one of the fathers of civil rights by setting the tone of the movement with the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and following through on his quest for equality until the very end of his short life. However King is not the only man to step and realize his responsibilities. Another man did too, with methods and motives of entirely different types.

Malcolm X is one of the most recognizable names in Black history today. Born in Omaha, Nebraska with the name Malcolm Little. He moved to Lansing, Michigan where he would see his house burned down at the hands of the Ku Klux Klan, two years later his father, a large supporter of the ideals of moving the blacks away from racist America back to the homeland of Africa, was murdered, Malcolm's father was the fifth death in his family caused by racism, three uncles were beaten by whites, one was lynched, subsequently, his mother was placed in a mental institution. He would later move to Boston, and in 146, while in prison, he would convert to the Black Muslim faith, a religion that believed that blacks should not just be equal, but regarded as superior to the evil white man. He met with Elijah Muhammad, the leader of this religious sect upon being released from prison. After this meeting, he would change his name to Malcolm X, due to the belief that his given name was the name of his slaveholders, and therefore, evil. He would go on speaking tours throughout the nation, and people would soon see his incredible ability to move hundreds even thousands with his words. He soon became the most popular speaker in the religious sect. He spoke extremely eloquently against the white man, and a large following grew behind Malcolm, instead of the religion. His speaking helped gain large numbers of people to join the militant movement for black power. He is even considered the cause of converting Cassius Clay to the religion, Clay would later become known to many as Muhammad Ali. Due to his popularity, the Nation of Islam's hierarchy felt threatened by him, and suspended him from the movement. During his suspension, Malcolm would make a pilgrimage to Mecca, the Muslim holy land. As a result he would leave the Black Muslim faith and create his own religion, in which he stated that whites were not inherently evil, but able to join with blacks and form worldwide brotherhood. His new views agreed more with those of Martin Luther King Jr. and gained him even more support. His new followers that believed in equality however began to rival those of the Black Muslim faith, who were still obsessed with their ideal of black power and white inferiority. The rivalry between the two groups led up to February 1st, 165. Malcolm was in a ballroom in Harlem, giving a speech to his followers when a man stood up with a sawed-off shotgun and fired shots into Malcolm's chest, two other men ran to the stage where Malcolm was lying and emptied their .45 guns into his chest. Malcolm would die later at New York hospital. Three Black Muslims would later be charged in the killing of Malcolm X and convicted. In his short life, Malcolm converted thousands to the Black Muslim faith, and then eventually to his own faith and orthodox Islam. His original message of black power and superiority put confidence in many black men who were once afraid to stand up against their white oppressors. His advocating of the ideas of equality and world brotherhood helped to join people together instead of fueling the fire for an all out race war. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest men in Civil Rights history.

Through the long fight that was the Civil Rights movement, many had to make sacrifices for their beliefs, be it Blacks giving up riding the bus and walking throughout Montgomery, Alabama for 84 days, or Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. giving up their lives, being killed for believing in and hoping for equality. It is difficult to imagine how things would have played out differently had Dr. King and Malcolm X not lived to allow people to realize their true bravery, without these two men, and the thousands that risked their lives walking the streets of Montgomery, the racist normalcy may have never changed, and we could be living in an entirely different world.

In this drastically changing world, student policies have greater impact on the prospect of any institution. The students and teachers work cooperatively to determine student policies. In most of the institutions, even the management board has a student representative. This tells the significance of student policies in any institution.

Any new infrastructure or facility for the institution arises with a forcing backup of student groups. Policies of an institution are laid for the convenience of students. So most of the policies of any institution are student driven. They should be controlling and regulating the students. Policies should be modified when students are not convenient or when they are out of control of lecturers.

The lecturers should monitor students carefully by moving closer with them and observe their needs. Then, they should analyse these needs by discussing with the management and try to implement them. They should take care of loopholes in any policy. Management committee should have to carry out an open discussion about various issues periodically with the students.

At any case student-management relationship should not be spoiled. However in institutions where traditions mean more than transition to new policies according to the changing world, this is not being implemented. This results in friction between the students and the management. This would lead the student to go off track. In turn the management would implement laws for reprisal of the student violating the laws. The management should be precautious about this kind of situation.

Students should also think in broad manner, while taking any aggressive decision. They should have a vision of their career and of the institution. If they are inconvenient with a policy, they should inform their management and explain the problem clearly. If it is not solved, then they should go higher authorities.

Thus I conclude by saying that in modern era institutions the influence of students in the determination of college policies is under growing rapid growth, which should be encouraged.
